For Groups

On Thursday nights our parents attend a mandatory life skills class. They get home from work and often do not have the time to prepare dinner for their families before they have to go to the class.

We ask different groups of volunteers to come with food for the shelter as well as arts and crafts or activities for the children on Thursday nights. It is family friendly, kids of all ages are welcome to attend with their parents.

Program hours are Thursdays from 5:00-7:30pm.

Love to throw parties? Give the Thomas House children a day to remember by throwing a Birthday Party (once a month, Saturdays), or Holiday Party (Thursday evenings). Some holidays we celebrate at Thomas House include:

  • Valentine’s Day
  • St. Patrick’s Day
  • Easter
  • Mother’s Day
  • Graduation
  • Halloween
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas

Is your company, church group, or scouting troupe looking for a service project?

Thomas House can always use the support of volunteers who can complete minor building maintenance and repairs, painting, light carpentry, or other projects as needed.

We also need volunteers to pick up furniture and other heavy items from donors.  If you have a pick-up truck and some strong friends Thomas House could really use your support.

We often have to decline donations of excellent furniture  that our graduate families really need because we do not have any means of transporting the donations.

Please consider helping us get donations to the shelter.
